I do not want to be Rajya Sabha member: Aamir Khan

The so called Mr. Perfectionist of the Hindi Film Industry, actor Aamir Khan, who is now on air with his much-awaited TV show Satyamev Jayate and his show is getting very positive response from the people as well as experts, has recently said in an interview that he is interested on joining politics and being a member of Rajya Sabha.

Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate has been shown on Star Plus at 11 in the morning.

In April 2012, Bollywood’s super hit actress Rekha and master blaster of the Indian Cricket team Sachin Tendulkar were nominated to the Rajya Sabha.

When asked to actor Aamir Khan if he would ever accept a Rajya Sabha nomination, actor Aamir Khan said, “First of all, the offer is not there. I feel I am happy wherever I am today and whatever work I want to do, I am doing that through my field… profession.”

Further, Aamir said, “And I feel I would be able to contribute more to the society through my field. I feel if I go somewhere else, I doubt if I could do that much contribution to the society.”

He gave the statement talking to media at his residence in Mumbai.

On the other hand, other film celebrities who have been nominated to the Rajya Sabha in the past include Hema Malini, Vyjayantimala, Nargis Dutt, Lata Mangeshkar and Sivaji Ganesan, among others.
