Backing Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde’s RSS terror remarks, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said it based entirely on facts made available by the investigative agencies to the government.
Shinde’s remark was factually true, Khurshid said, as source, adding that terror has no religion and colour.
He appealed everyone to fight terror directed against India. “We are fighting terror against India. I urge the media and the people to help us fight unwholesome terror,” he added.
Shinde’s remark in which he accused BJP and RSS, the actual campus of terror training based on “Hindu terrorism” raised a controversy between Congress and BJP.
Shinde claimed that running camps for recruiting and training Hindu militants, BJP uses cultural nationalism to emotionally divide the country.
Angered BJP demanded to sack Mr. Shinde for his terror remark and also threatened for nationwide protests on January 24.
Over BJP’s demand of resigning to Shinde, Khurshid said, “Any form of violence by extremists of any kind, irrespective of religion, is not good for India.”
“I think we should not be distracted by a phrase here or there frankly. The intention, the commitment, the determination is what clearly matters,” he added.
Meanwhile, Congress has kept itself spare from the whole controversial matter, said that the party does not believe and see the ‘saffron terror’.
