According to the latest reports from the Assam, the Assam police has arrested MLA Pradeep Brahma from Bodoland people’s Front for his suspected involvement in the ethnic violence in the city on Thursday.
Further, MLA Pradeep Brahma was arrested by the police from Kokrajhar region.
Talking to media after MLA’s arrest, Inspector General of Police LR Bishnoi said, “Brahma was held after seven cases were registered against him in Fakiragram and Dotama police stations in Kokrajhar district.”
Meanwhile, the BPF, headed by its chief Hagrama Mihilary, is activated in the Bodoland Territorial Council that operates the four Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Districts. Further, the party is also playing a collaboration role in Assam’s Congress-led government.
In the intervening time, the state police has ordered indefinite curfew in Kokrajhar after recent violence in Dhubri district Wednesday night between Bodo and Muslim communities, killing one person and two people went missing.
