Microsoft Windows 8 AppFest sets a Guinness record

windows 8 app fest 150x150 Microsoft Windows 8 AppFest sets a Guinness recordHitting a historical World record, 2567 app developers participated in the Microsoft Windows 8 AppFest and set a new Guinness world record.

Leading to the Window 8 launch, Microsoft hosted India’s largest developer event in which participants performed extremely well awarded it “Most Participants in a Software Development Marathon in One Location” Guinness world record by achieving target of non-stop coding for 18 hours.

Microsoft invited 2,567 developers to the marathon which saw them code for 18 hours straight. This, in turn, helped the company get awarded the record of having the “Most participants in a software development marathon in one location”.

The World largest software marathon, Microsoft Windows 8 AppFest which based on theme of Microsoft building, designing and testing apps, held at Karnataka Trade Promotion Organization (KTPO) in the Bangalore.

Around more than 3500 developers from different parts of India tried to make participation with their full efforts.

“The spectacle of thousands of developers toiling through the night has demonstrated great commitment to their work,” Paul O’Neill, Vice President Guinness World Records Commercial sadi while announcing Microsoft’s Guinness world record.

Talking about Microsoft latest Window Phone 8 OS, Chairman of Microsoft India, Bhaskar Pramanik told media persons that Windows 8 is likely to release on October 26.
