Mumbai Police raids: 400 women, minors rescued at Grant Road brothel

According to latest news, the Mumbai police raided a five-story building in South Mumbai and cracked a major Sex racket in the city.

The DB Marg police was headed by additional commissioner of police (south region) and the police team raided Simplex Building at Grant Road and rescued at least 400 women and minors.

Further, the Mumbai police has also arrested around 134 persons including customers as well as pimps. The city police is still examining the matter.

The police official said the building is located in the Pavalla Street and raided at around 8:30 pm and found women and girls in small rooms and cubicles in the structure.

Talking to media, additional commissioner of police (south region) Krishna Prakash said, “When we entered the building, we found five to six girls in every room and cubicle. A team of around 20 policemen including an assistant commissioner of police began the raid post 9 pm and the process is still underway.”

It is said in reports that police was involved in the crack-down of this sex racket as they became customer to enter the building. Police recovered severl minor girls and they were now taken to Special Branch II to ascertain if they were Bangladeshi nationals.

Police said hat the building was used as a prostitution den for long and the latest action was taken following a tip-off.
