According to fresh news, the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has supported the Centre’s decision to allow FDI in multi-brand retail and said that this will help farmers be removing the role of middleman.

Rahul Gandhi was sharing his views at the national executive of Indian Youth Congress in Srinagar.

He said that around 60-70% of fresh products can not get chance to enter market due to lack of proper storage facilities.

Rahul Gandhi is on 2-days tour to Kashmir. Rahul said FDI in multi-brand retail would help farmers to sell their products in the ‘Mandis’ and can get much better price.

He said, “FDI will also create lot of new jobs, which will not only lead to higher income generation but also significantly reduce unemployment, thereby having a salutary effect on the economy.”

Rahul added, “If something happens in the US, it will most likely affect events in India, and vice versa.”

The congress leader Rahul Gandhi added that it would be important to win hearts and minds of students in the Kashmir Valley.

He said, “We need to earn their trust, their faith. I am here to win their trust through dialogue and deeds.”
