MNS workers damages toll booths, 18 held

With a long lasting period, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray came in his active style on Tuesday seeking an immediate action against toll collection centres in charge of recovering the funds so far, becoming daylight robbing centres.

Acted on Thackeray statements, more than thousands of MNS workers damaged two counters of the Dahisar checknaka, calling “Zero transparency” about the construction cost of the road was recovered so far.

As per source report, supporting the workers meeting, Thackeray told, “Prithviraj Chavan says Maharashtra will be freed of plastic… First, free the roads in Maharashtra from toll.”

Thackeray warned in Thane while addressing a meeting with party workers, their party would agitate against toll nakas, which are collecting toll money from users even after the state has recovered the costs involved in building bridges or roads, report suggested.

Along with workers, there are four cooperators including MNS corporate Prakash Darekar, Chetan Kadam, Shilpa Chogale, Deepak Pawara who would take part in the MNS agitation.

“They are looting people by extracting money every day. We are not against toll nakas, but we want better roads and bridges in return, which is why we vandalised the Dahisar toll naka,” Darekar told reporters.

Moreover, under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), at least 18 MNS protesters who agitated in Dahisar, have been arrested by the Dahisar police in which four are corporators and five are woman party members.
