The well-known Bollywood actress Antara, daughter of ace photographer Jagdish Mali, talked with media for the first time about his father’s illness.
Her father, Jagdish Mali, also a well-known Bollywood photographer was spotted in a semi-nude condition by ‘Bigg Boss 6’ contestant Mink Brar, who then with the help of Salman took him to their residence.
It is said that, Salman Khan sent a vehicle and his staff to help Mink Brar to take Antara’s father at home safely.
Now, actress Antara has issued a press statement on Thursday, denying the news that her was an alcoholic and suffered from depression.
In a press conference, Antara’s statement said, “His condition is such that at times, if he forgets his insulin shot, he gets disoriented. At such times opening a simple door latch can be a challenge. This may happen once in six months, the rest of the time he’s fully functioning and normal. This is what happened that evening.”
The statement said, “This may be a publicity stunt by someone trying to capitalise on his ill health and has accomplished nothing but damaged a 35-year-old glorious career. My dad is not an alcoholic but has a chronic liver disorder along with heavy diabetes. He hasn’t touched a drop of alcohol for 15 years. He is sober”
Further, the statement said, “We don’t need anybody’s help. I am proud of my father’s legacy, he is a truly an incredible artist and has a lot of goodwill in the film and fashion industry”
In the meantime, Jagdish Mali had played a pivotal role in giving Rekha the ‘Diva’ status.
