As one of the most honourable 60th National Film Awards announced, Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ has emerged as the Best Feature Film of 2012 directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Irrfan has also won the award for Best Actor for his role of a national level athlete who went on to become one of the most dreaded dacoits of Chambal Valley.
Best Acting Award for Male also shared by Vikram Gokhale for the Marathi film Anumat, reports said.
Ayushmann Khurrana who marked debut with his Vicky Donor movie on Bollywood actor John Abraham’s debut production venture also staged a special place at National Award getting Best Popular Film in wholesome entertainment of the year.
While directing by Sujoy Ghosh and Vidhya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’ bagged the award for best screenplay and in music category, ace composer Shankar Mahadevan gets the best male playback singer award for the song ‘Bolo na’ from the film Chittagong.
Another Best Supporting Actor Awards for Male and Female bagged to Anu Kapur and Dolly Ahluwalia for the film Vicky Donor.
The best Choreographer Awards has goes to Ace Kathak dancer Pandit Birju Maharaj for Vishwaroopam.
National Film Awards 2013, the most popular and desired film honours in Indian cinema has been announced by filmmakers Basu Chatterjee, Aruna Raje and Swapan Mullick. A total of 38 films from 14 languages have been selected for the awards.
