Latest news said that popular Punjabi rapper Honey Singh has been slammed for vulgar as well as offensive lyrics demeaning women. However, two of the five most searched video songs on YouTube in year 2012 were of rapper Honey Singh’s songs.
Though, one of his song’s lyrics has openly talked about sexually assaulting women.
In the stir of Delhi Gangrape case, an online petition is making headlines on many social networking sites and demanding to ban the rapper from performing at a Gurgaon hotel on New Year’s eve.
Further, the online petition also requests the general manager of the hotel to cancel the performance of rapper Honey Singh.
Meanwhile, the online petition says, “These pornographic lyrics are unacceptable and it is because of women hating sentiments like these that men think that it’s fine to do what they did on that bus, that December night in Delhi. Let’s put a stop to these subversive lyrics that infiltrate the minds of people who don’t know better and who then justify to themselves the rightness of a crime that harms another human being, sometimes so severely that they lose their lives.”
