Pranab Mukherjee, Omar Abdullah left out of India Today Conclave

Salman Rushdie, who is presented at the India Today Conclave, is the reason of canceling the participation of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the conclave.

On Saturday, both ministers had to be presented for the literary session of the two-day annual conclave, but while they knew the addressing of controversial author Salman Rushdie they immediately dropped out their schedule.

From Friday, Rushdie has been in capital for giving his participation at the literacy session in conclave at a five-star hotel.

Rushdie’s visit is really a shock for country people because earlier two months he had to cancel his Jaipur Literature Festival visit due to having a massive protest from Muslim sanitary groups against his novel “The Satanic Verses”. For that his visit in India had banned by Islam community.

While asking about Mukherjee’s participation who was to appear a day after his budget session, the functional organizers refused to define any major reason.

Whatever the functional organizers cited the reason, Mukherjee had unable to attend, just because of huge pressure from his Muslim populated constituency, Jangipur, in West Bengal.

On Friday, Pakistani opposition leader Imran Khan was inability to attend conclave and therefore Rushdie’s session was postponed to Saturday.
