Six rapists have been arrested by the Punjab Police, alleging for gang-raped of a 29-year-old married woman in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, police said.
The victim was in a bus and went for her in-laws’ village, Gukla when bus driver and conductor kidnapped her and took her on a motorcycle to Gurdaspur, 260 km from Chandigarh.
As per reports, bus driver and conductor along with their five accomplices gang-raped her on 11 January night.
The victim complained at Kahnuwan town police station and after her medical examination, her rape report confirmed.
After gangraping the victim, the driver dumped her near her village next morning, the Victim in her complaint said to Police.
The case has been registered under section 376 of IPC (punishment for rape) against the seven accused.
“We have arrested six accused while raids were being conducted to arrest the last one. All have been booked for rape,” police told reporters.
