Sand mafia attacks Madhya Pradesh Officials, Kuber Singh arrested

In form of a big success in mafia sand case, Police arrested the main accused Kuber Singh, the one who conducts illegal transportation of sand and surly to have led the mafia group that fired at officials probing illegal mining in the state’s Panna district on Saturday.

SDM NA Gaud reported that the area where illegal transport sand attempt was fielding with SDOP, town inspector and some policemen. But within few minutes, mafia group started firing at them and in response of self defense they also fired.

Officials of SDM and Police jointly have succeeded to destroy the temporary improvised bridge that they had pulled down near the Kain River. But still they require more troops for fighting with mafia and asked govt. to deployed more forces to fight and rushed mafia gang.

Talking to reporters, Prakash Verma, mining officer in Chhatarpur said, “These people (mining mafia) are working under the shelter of locals leaders. They are trying to threaten us. The sand mafia even made a bridge in Panna for illegal mining.”

Still police are in search of two more accused who are absconding.

The mafia sand case deals with the killing of 30-year-old IPS officer Narendra Kumar on Thursday by a man driving a tractor carrying illegally-mined stones ran over him in the Morena district.

But Kumar’s widow, herself an IPS officer, has demanded a CBI probe and claiming that it was a murder and not an accident.

She said, “This was not an accident. I have worked in that area. If you are involved in such work then you will end up getting killed. I expect the government to order a CBI inquiry.”
