Sharing experience and trying to provide players a platform to perform at the highest level is the best way to give something back to the game.”

She said, “Hopefully, if not in the next 5 years, may be in 10 years, 12 years, we will have players coming out of that academy.”

The tennis academy will be constructed in four acre and 9 hard courts will be made at first. Later, nine more hard courts will be made including three clay courts.

In the meantime, Sania Mirza’s former mixed doubles partner Mahesh Bhupathi had also launched a tennis academy in Bangalore in 2011.

Sania said, “It’s been great. As tennis players you are never satisfied. We are greedy as players, always want better result. I played six finals, won a Grand Slam and made the final of China open which is the biggest tournament after Slam. So, it’s been a great year.”

She added, “I achieve my best ranking this year (No 7 in doubles) and next year, I would like to better that.”

The tennis player needs to change her tennis doubles partner this reason. Sania Mirza played with Russian Elena Vesnina, American Bethanie Mattek Sands, Australian Anastasia Rodionova, Yaroslav Shvedova and now with Spanish Nuria Llagostera Vives.
