Scientists develop flush-efficient toilet system that can turn waste into energy

This is another great achievement by scientists, this time they developed a flush-efficient toilet system that can turn waste into energy, sort before it recycles

Yes, this looks quite different, but this is true. Scientists from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University do not want to waste anything, means anything !!!

Even they now developed a flush-efficient toilet system that uses 90 percent less water than other commodes and is capable of generating energy. Suitably named the No-Mix Vacuum Toilet, the porcelain pedestal’s pot separates waste between two partitions — one side for liquids and the other one is for solid.

It is said in research that it uses vacuum tech reminiscent of airline lavatories. Flushing solid as well as fluid wastes with 1 and 0.2 liters of water, in that order, the can will be able to route refuse to external processing facilities.

Fertilizer components like nitrogen, potassium and phosphorous would then be produced from liquids.

In the same way, methane can be coaxed from solids for conversion to electricity or as a replacement for other natural gasses.

Now, two of the Singapore university’s restrooms are planning to have installed such toilets in the near future. And, they want to spread it worldwide as soon as possible.
