‘Town’ of illegal migrants found in Moscow
Law enforcers in the Russian capital have discovered “a whole town” of makeshift cabins in Moscow, where about 2,000 illegal migrant labourers live, RIA Novosti reported.
The discovery was made after residents complained about their noisy neighbours.
A probe showed that the land, which was leased by authorities for agriculture purposes to a farm, “was de facto turned into a major supplier on the Moscow labour market”, a law enforcement official said. Read more
Russian unmanned cargo ship docks with ISS
As per latest reports, after failing in its first test fly, an upgraded Russian unmanned spacecraft, Progress 47 successfully docks on second try and joined the International Space Station today and ready to test a new docking system.
Russian space agency Roscomos said that this docking will test the new Kurs-NA rendezvous system that will facilitates to send astronauts and future cargoes to the orbital station. Read more
Hypersonic BrahMos 2 missile to be ready by 2017
Jointly developed with collaboration of Russia and India, the first prototype of the hypersonic BrahMos 2 cruise missile, having Mach 5-Mach 7 speed capabilities, will be ready for flight testing in 2017, as per an official source saying.
“I think we will need about five years to develop the first fully-functional prototype(of the hypersonic missile. We have already carried out a series of lab tests at the speed of 6.5 Mach,” Sivathanu Pillai, chief executive officer of the Russian-Indian joint venture Brahmos Aerospace said while interacting with media persons.
