Today Essar Group and Loop Telecom promoters to whom CBI accused and filed a charge sheet under the 2G spectrum scam, will be appear before a special CBI court on basis of trial issued by the court.

Ravikant Ruia and Anshuman Ruia are the Essar Group’s promoters and along with them Loop Telecom promoter Kiran Khaitan, I P Khaitan and Strategy and Planning director of Essar Group Vikas Saraf , all names had been listed in the third chargesheet filed by CBI in 2G scam on 12 December last year.

But not having sufficient evidence against accused promoters to prove that these have cheated the Department of Telecom in 2G licenses in 2008 as a part of violation of the telecom licenses norms, the court had issued summons for 27 January to three telecom companies Loop Telecom Pvt Ltd.

Loop Mobile India Ltd and Essar Tele Holding whether by appointing their representatives or their Directors, this had decided to make further investigation and took a clear stand by CBI in 2 G scam.

While the CBI did not proved the accused to prosecute under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), the court had decided that the three companies in accordance with the March 28, 2011 notification will have to stand the trial before the Designated Court.

As per the notification all the cases of 2G scam, following the Supreme Court order, are attend by Designated Court that setting up by the Delhi Government.
