Bhandara Rape Case: Shidne reveals identities of victims

Yet again, the Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde bows the government into another gaffe reading the names of three sisters of Bhandara in Maharashtra, who were allegedly raped and murdered recently.

Shidne revealed the identities of rape victims, the too minor and their respective age while making the statement in Parliament House, Rajya Sabha.

Shortly, the Leader of the Opposition Arun Jaitley targeted through intervention, calling it disrespect to victims. As per him, the “gravity” of crime against women was not revealed in the statement their identity should be kept a secret as per Supreme Court guidelines, reports said.

Last month, three minor sisters aging below 11 years, belongs to same family were brutally raped, murdered and thrown into an abandoned well near Murwadi village.

Following that, the Opposition had demanded for a CBI investigation into the case which was rejected by Shinde due to restricts of Center to intervene in Maharashtra State’s affairs regarding serious issue.

When uproar in Parliament, Shidne ate his words and regretted the error withdrawing statement, according to source. Added that Shinde ordered a probe into how the names of Bhandara rape victims found in the statement.
