General VK Singh has recently said in an interview that he was offered a bribe of around Rs 14 crore by an equipment lobbyist as a move to have a tranche of 600 sub-standard vehicles of a tender made cleared for purchase.

Further, Army Chief told media that 7,000 of such vehicles are already being used by the Indian Army and had been sold in past many years at exorbitant prices.

Talking to media, the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said, “I offered to launch Korean satellite on Indian space launch vehicle.”

The Indian PM was talking to media along with South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak after bilateral talks.

Further, both the leaders showed their great interest as to boost the bilateral trade following the signing of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in 2011 and establishing a target of achieving USD 40 billion trade by 2015. Read more

India’s Smile, NGO-located in Kolkata, which had earlier asked the central government to bring back Abhigyan (3-years-old) and Abhigyan (1-year-old), children of Anurup and Sagarika Bhattacharya, residing in Oslo in Norway.

The NGO also said the government that it will bear all the required cost in bringing back the two children and take care of their educational and other expenses till the age of 18. Read more

However, the SAD’s core committee is expected to meet today to hold further talks on the issue.

Talking to media, Parkash Singh Badal said, “My government has been taking advice from legal experts. All possible legal steps will be initiated pertaining to Rajoana’s case.”

Earlier on Friday, Akal Tahkt has asked CM and SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar to meet the President Pratibha Patil to save Balwan Singh, who is in jail in the killing of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. Read more
