Congress Prince, Rahul Crowned VP

Congress’s Prince, Rahul Gandhi has appointed as party Vice President, set to work for party with a new role that could lead to major changes in the party.

Now Rahul till now the party general secretary is at 2nd position in Congress after Party President Sonia Gandhi.

“I have great experience…In the last eight years that I have worked with the party I have seen it is a great organisation and together we will transform the country. It is a great party,” he said to thank all party workers.

On the last day of Congress brainstorming event, ‘Chintan Shivir’ at the B.M. Birla Science and Technology Auditorium in Jaipur, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) held here in which party announced its decision.

“Elevating Rahul Gandhi as VP” decision is unanimous as all demanded to address the long-standing aspirations of Congress leaders and workers across the country, proposed by Defence Minister A.K. Antony.

As the decision come just a year and half ahead of the 2014 General Elections, the Lok Sabha polls that is raising the chances of Rahul to be nominated as Prime Ministerial Candidate of Congress.

What will be Rahul’s role in the next election will be decided later, Party chief spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi told reporters.

“In Rahul Gandhi the party has its most effective and most accepted young leader reflecting the feelings of millions of Congress workers,” he added.

Meanwhile, clouds of politics are signaling a big and tight war between BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi as both are likely to come up in the next General Election campaign.
