According to the latest reports, a fire broke out at two rooms of the Finance Ministry’s North Block office at 3.45 am on Thursday.
Taking an immediate action, six fire brigades and electricians were soon rushed to the location at 5.45 am and the situation is now under control.
In the meantime, it took almost two hours to reach fire brigades at the spot and during that time room number 14 and 15 were gutted.
It is said in reports that some important files are said to have been destroyed.
The exact reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
