Srinagar’s Historical Dastgeer Sahib destroyed in fire

According to latest reports, fire broke out the historical Dastgeer Sahib in the Khanyar area of Srinagar. It is further that the Dastgeer Sahib was 100-years-old.

Fire brigades were soon ruched to the spot of accident, to bring fire under control. The shrine is mostly made of wood.

Officials have said that the ancient relics of the saint, housed in the Shrine have been saved and retrieved. The officials from the shrine said that they were kept in a fire-proof safe they remained unharmed.

Reports said that fire started this morning at around 6:30am soon after prayers and eyewitnesses told media that within few minutes fire spread allover the complex.

Achieve of locals gathered at the shrine weeping and wailing while they watched the blaze.

Meanwhile, Srinagar’s Historical Dastgeer Sahib was made in 100th century and is highly revered across religions in Kashmir. And, Muslims call the saint Ghaus-e-Azam, the Hindus revere the saint as Kahnoow.
