Google doodles India’s Republic Day

On India’s 64th Republic Day when all nations is celebrating the day of constitution, Google doodles tribute its honour to Indian by marking a tiger on the India home page.

A collage of our national symbols- the lotus and India Gate, surrounding a tiger with a jungle like background, decorates the bottom left corner of Google’s 2013 Republic Day doodle.

The Google logo appears as stripes on the tiger’s body on the Google India homepage

Indian Republic Day celebrates as day of the Constitution of India which came into force on 26 January 1950, replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as a relic of the British era.

Therefore, the Republic Day marks the honour of the memory of the declaration of independence of 1930, which has been celebrated by a parade in the national capital at the Rajpath before the president.

The Republic Day India 2013 Doodle is the third to feature on Google India’s home page, followed by 2012 India’s 63rd Republic Day Google doodle with National Bravery Award winning children riding on the backs of decorated elephants.
