Grand opening of ‘Virasat-e-Khalsa’ at Anandpur Sahib

Anandpur Sahib: On Friday, the `Virasat-e-Khalsa` an antic piece of Sikhism was held a religious ceremony in such holy city.

In this Sikhism city, the heritage complex has to socialize the holible message of the Sikh gurus. This complex has been showing the history and culture, religious facts related to Sikhism and Punjab’s rich heritage of the `Khalsa`,

The Parkash Singh Badal who is the Punjab Chief Minister was paased out a project around 300 crore. However, at that time Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari, Art of Living founder Ravi Shankar and others were also there.

During such ceremony, Badal was also invited Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to inaugurate the landmark monument “Khalsa Heritage Complex (KHC)”. But there was a controversy. The Congress Party Leaders told and prohibiting to inaugurate the Prime Minister because he had already been came in 2006 and thats why he should not come again in monument.

This project was announced in April 1999, hoped to be completed in 2004 to coincide with the celebrations of the 400th year of the Golden Temple.
But for some circumstances, the Punjab govt. was missed such moment.

The Inauguration of such landmark monument on Friday is top most phase of the whole KHC complex.

Such heritage complex has been designed by Moshe Safdie Boston-based Israeli-architect, which is shaped like open hands offering prayers. The monument is termed as a “wonder in the making”.

Being built on a 100-acre site at Anandpur Sahib, 85 km from Chandigarh, KHC stands at a site that is the birthplace of the Khalsa Panth.

The first holiest Sikh shine is the Khalsa Panth, the present day Sikh religion, whose founder was the 10th Sikh master, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Takht Keshgarh Sahib, the second holiest Sikh shrine,which is located here.
