HCL Infosystems has launched three new Android budget tablets- HCL ME U2, V1 and Y3 – aiming to attracts students as well as young professionals to mark mid range market segment.
All three HCL ME Tablets feature 7-inch screens and Android ICS platform with 1GHz Cortex processor and key integrated back-up service, HCL Touch, a 24-7 one touch service facility.
A new range of ‘HCL ME’ tablets whose brand ambassador is Cricketer Unmukt Chand, is being offered by HCL in select cities but will be available across the country staring from this month.
“The tablet market in India has seen tremendous growth. From 350,000 units in 2011 to three million devices last year, the segment is expected to see sales touching six million units this year. The segment is growing at 100 per cent and it’s a great market to be in,” Gautam Advani, Global Head (Mobility Business Unit), told reporters.
Key specifications are as HCL ME U2 features full access to Google Play marketplace with 4GB onboard storage, a microSD cards support ranging up to 32GB, VGA camera in the front supports full HD videos, for connectivity Wi-Fi, microUSB and 3G via dongle options are available.
HCL ME V1and Y3 has similar features of U2, ME V1 packs with a 2MP rear camera with a 0.3MP front VGA camera, while ME Y3 is a Dual SIM device has a 3.2MP camera on the back, VGA camera in the front. Both devices are come with sim-based 2G, 3G via dongle, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB, along with limited apps featured in HCL ME Store.
Over pricing, the company has made available the all-new HCL ME U2, V1 and Y3 at a price tag of Rs 5,999, Rs 7,999 and Rs 11,999.
