Luke Wright 150x150 ICC World Twenty20: England beats New Zealand by 6 wicketsThe Twenty20 match was played between England and New Zealand cricket team today at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. England outplayed New Zealand and chased the target with one over to go.

Earlier, New Zealand captain Ross Taylor won the toss and elected to bat first. New Zealand team lost their wickets at regular interval so they never looked in good position, only, Frankin played some e good cricketing shorts and made superb 50 runs from 33 balls with 4 fours and two sixes.

New Zealand made 148 runs in 20-overs. From England, Finn was the pick of the bowlers, he took 3 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs.

Batting second, England lost opener Kieswetter for just 4 runs, but Hales and Wright played good cricket and took their team to a better position.

Wright made superb 76 runs from 43 balls hitting 5 fours and equal number of sixes.

He was adjusted as the Man-of-the-match.

England captain Stuart Broad said, “It was nice to bounce back. Steven Finn set the tone with the new ball. The wicket was a lot drier and it did turn a bit. We now have a huge game on Monday. We still have areas to improve.”

New Zealand captain Ross Taylor said, “I thought it was a decent score but no enough at the end of the day. We had our moments but we could capitalise on them.”

Luke Wright is named Man of the Match, he said, “It was a very important win, we are very chuffed. I love batting with Morgan, he’s so chilled out there. I think Steven Finn should have been here with the way he bowled.”
