India lost to New Zealand by one run, Dhoni unhappy with pitch

New Zealand 150x150 India lost to New Zealand by one run, Dhoni unhappy with pitchThe captain of the Indian cricket team MS Dhoni is not happy with the pitch of the match played against New Zealand in the 2nd Twenty20 International match played at Chennai yesterday.

Team India captain blamed the change in behaviour of the Chepauk strip in the second half as the reason India lost the match by one run.

MS Dhoni said, “The wicket slowed down and it was difficult to hit. It’s among the bigger grounds. It was holding up not like all the balls have same bounce. In the end it became quite difficult. But we should have won this game.”

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first. At one stage, New Zealand had lost their both the openers with just 2 runs on the board, but Brendon McCullum played superbly a knock of 91 runs from just 55 balls hitting 11 fours and 3 huge sixes.

His knock helped New Zealand to score 167 runs in 20 overs.

Batting second, India started their innings with Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. Virat Kholi once again proved that he is the best, he scored 70 runs from 41 balls hitting 10 fours and one six.

Emotional moment was for millions of cricket fans when Yuvraj Singh came to bat, Yuvraj played a knock of 34 runs with two huge sixes, and his fans and all cricket lovers were really happy to see him batting like a true hero once again.

However, India lost the match by one run, but Yuvraj Singh won the match against cancer and it looked that he is fit for the upcoming World Twenty20 Cup in Sri Lanka starting from sept 21

Talking to media, Dhoni said, “Virat gave us a very good start. After that, Raina and Yuvraj also batted really well. A lot of positive for us before the start of the World Cup.”

Winning captain Ross Taylor, New Zealand, said, “Brendon McCullum batted brilliantly to give the 160-plus score. The bowlers also bowled well. Franklin needs a big pat on the back. Hopefully we can take this confidence through.”
