“Kai Po Che” opens to a fantastic start, collets Rs 4.5 cr

The latest released Bollywood film ‘Kai Po Che’ of Abhishek Kapoor has so far done good business at the box office. It is said the film has collected around4.5 crore on its opening day at the Indian box office.

Moreover, overseas also the films has done well.

The film ‘Kai Po Che’ is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life and features, Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav in the lead roles.

The Bollywood film has released on this Friday in 1000 screens allover the country.

Talking to media, Gaurav Verma, director – India theatrical distribution, Studios, Disney UTV said, “It’s a fantastic start for Kai Po Che! and it will only keep on growing over the weekend. We are looking at a big weekend. Also, the film will also have a sound week one and will have a long run at the theatre because of the appreciation that it is getting to sustain this super box office run.”

In overseas cinema halls, the film was released in around 250 screens, which includes 109 in USA, 54 in UK, 35 in Gulf and 12 in Australia. The film was released in Gulf on Thursday and earned $170,000 in just two days.

Further, Amrita Pandey, Executive Director – Syndication, International Distribution and Disney Media Distribution, Studios, Disney UTV said, “The business from the movie is only poised to grow over the weekend.”

Amrita Pandey adds, “The weekend is key for us – and there is incredible positive word of mouth in all overseas markets. We are thrilled at the response, and feel that this should carry over to the box office.”
