After the historic win of Kolkata Knight Riders over the Chennai Super Kings in the India Premier League [IPL 2012] Finals, the former KKR skipper Sourav Ganguly praised Manvinder Bisla for his wonderful batting performance which helped his team to lift the IPL Trophy.
Manvinder Bisla was the Man-of-the-match, hitting 89 runs from 48 balls with eight fours and five huge sixes.
KKR later got full support from their middle order hero and South African all-rounder Jacque Kallis, hitting 69 runs from 49 balls with seven fours and one big six.
Meanwhile, talking to media about Bisla’s batting against CSK, Sourav Ganguly said, “After the first six overs in the KKR innings, I thought 191 was gettable. I thought KKR was destined to win. Bisla batted superbly. It was clean hitting. He played out of his skin.”
Further, he said, “He never allowed the pressure to choke him. He and (Jacques) Kallis never allowed the requird run rate to go out of control.”
Moreover, batting first, CSK made 190 for the loss of three wickets, with Birthday boy Hussey made 54 runs from 43 balls hitting four fours and two sixes. He was well supported by Suresh Raina, who made cracking 73 runs from just 38 balls with three fours and five sixes.
However, batting second, KKR lost their skipper Gautam Gambhir early, but Manvinder Bisla had different plans, he made cracking 89 runs and added 136 partnerships with Kallis for the second wicket.
Sourav Ganguly said, “Kolkata Knight Riders are deserving winners. Chennai Super Kings never seemed as consistently good as the Knights.”
