The Live updates from the news desk reveals that high security has been ordered at around Jantar Mantar. A ring of Delhi Police has been deployed around the pretest venue.
In the meantime, the anti-rape protesters demands access to India Gate.
Delhi Police has taken all the required security measures; it has shut down all the roads that lead to India Gate.
Talking to media, Delhi Police official said, “Entire central vista including Rajpath, Vijay Chowk and all roads leading to India Gate will be closed for general traffic. Kamal Attaturk Marg has also been closed. All travellers are advised to avoid these roads.”
On the other hand, the 23-years old Delhi gangrape victim was brought dead from Singapore on late last night and her body was cremated in the national capital today morning under tight security.
The body of the girl was cremated today hours after her body was flown home from Singapore.
Further, protesters are expected to hold number of rallies in the national capital today. Aam Aadmi Party will be holding protest in Bhopal led by Arvind Kejriwal.
Protests are expected at Jantar Mantar, the University of Delhi and Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi. Rallies will be out in Patna, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Moreover, around 10 metro stations will remain closed on Sunday in New Delhi and Section 144 will remain in force as well.
Rajpath and Vijay Chowk too will remain out of bounds.
