Technology news states that Micromax on Monday announced the launch of its new smartphone into the Indian electronic market. The launch of A116 Canvas HD powered by MediaTek’s MT6589 1.2 GHz quad core processor and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
This is the first smartphone by Micromax with a quad-core processor.
The new electronic device comes with a 5-inch HD IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
During the launch event, Deepak Mehrotra, CEO, Micromax, said, “We plan to launch 30 smartphones this year.”
He said, “We are excited with the success of Canvas 2, which has clearly established Micromax as number one player in the phablet category in India. We are looking forward to similar success with Canvas HD.”
