Off-Spinner Harbhajan Singh takes on critics, eyes 100th Test

The so called Terminator, off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is back in the 15-member Indian cricket team against the first test matches against England. The off-spinner took a dig at his critics, saying that he is “not a magician” and it’s never “one-way traffic” in the career of a sportsperson.

Under Harbhajan’s captaincy the Punjab team beats Hyderabad by an innings in the Ranji trophy and Harbhajan named in the 15-member team.

Harbhajan Singh has so far played 98 Test matches and if he can these two against England, he will complete 100 Test matches. He said, “It is a big news for me. Although I played in the Twenty20 World Cup in Sri Lanka, securing a Test berth was always on my mind. It would be nice to complete 100 Test matches.”

In 98 Test matches Harbhajan has taken 406 wickets, he said, “I have seen legendary spinners like Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan going wicketless in matches. Similarly, I am not a magician; I too can have rough times.”

He added, “Some people who have not played cricket themselves have been writing crap stuff about me. But it can’t be like one-way traffic. A good bowler should not be only judged by his wickets count. His skillful bowling methods should also be taken into account.”

Bhaji said, “”[But] I have learnt to make the moves rather than work for things to happen on their own. I have evolved as a cricketer in the last one year.”

India England Test match series will start from November 15 and the first test match will be played at Ahmedabad. R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha are the other two specialist spinners in the team India.
