One Big Confesses, One Big Lie: Armstrong on Oprah show

The world class cyclist Lance Armstrong has recently accepted the truth of doping in each of his seven ‘Tour de France’ title wins in an interview with famous Oprah Winfrey.

During the live show with Oprah, cyclist Lance Armstrong said, “I know the truth. The truth isn’t what was out there, the truth isn’t what I said… This story was so perfect for so long… You overcome the disease, you win the Tour de France seven times, you have a happy marriage, you have children. I mean, it’s just this mythic, perfect story. And it wasn’t true.”

However, the cyclist further adds that his confession it now ‘too late’ and said, “I made my decisions; it was my mistake. I am here today to say I’m sorry for that.”

The first half of the interview of Armstrong with Oprah that was aired on Friday morning was a series of half apologies.

Armstrong further said that, he seemed offended by the accusation that he did so after his comeback in 2009, where he finished third.

He said, “The accusation that I doped after my comeback was not true.”

Moreover, the cyclist also admitted of having blood doping transfusions and testosterone. He added, “My cocktail, so to speak, was only EPO, but not a lot, and testosterone and blood transfusions.”

Lance Armstrong, the founder of The Livestrong Foundation, admitted that the doping was “like saying we have to have air in our tyres, we have to have water in our bottles.”

It is also said in news that few hours before his interview with Oprah, Armstrong has returned the bronze medal won by him in 2000 Olympic to International Olympic Committee.
