As per latest Technology sector news, the IT hardware makers firm, Pantel Technologies has said that it will introduce third generation (3G) 9.7 inch tablet in the country in October this year.
“We are working on a host of products. We are planning 3G 9.7 inch model with a dual core processor which will be launched by October this year.,” said Mr. Vijender Singh, Technologies Managing Director.
Though, the company had not issued any note on the price and features of the 3G tablet.
The company begins its operations in the country in March this year and had sold out more than one lakh PCs in July 2012.
Talking to media, Mr. Singh said, “Demand is mainly coming from the education sector.”
The Bangalore based company, Patenl Tech, has tie-up with state-run BSNL which will offer best data plans to its customers.
Vijender Singh said, “BSNL has a mandate to increase broadband penetration in rural and semi-urban areas of the country. To achieve this, you need a computing device and Pantel tablet PC fits in the category.”
The Bangalore branch of the company has a capacity to produce 1.5 lakh tablets in one shift. Pantel Technologies has dealership in around 540 districts of the country.
