Vespa, the best featured vehicle, is always preferred to use in Hollywood movies because of its stylish look and design. And now Indian people can enjoy the ride of this stylish vehicle as the best selling scooter Vespa has finally launched in India by Piaggio, its original Italian owner.
Covering the 2.5 million scooter market globally, Vespa’s the LX 125 that launched in India is made especially on basis of the Indian market delivering fuel efficiency.
LX 125 is powered by new generation engines that will be much improved with 60 kilometers per litre high mileage, a complete package of fuel efficient as compare to previous version.
“We could not have launched Vespa at better time than this. The scooter market is fastest growing segment in the country and the Indian consumers has evolved today aspiring to own more lifestyle products and Vespa fits in perfectly,” Ravi Chopra, CMD, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited said while unveiling the scooter.
Targeting the global market, the company is likely to make its global sales over 3,00,000 units annually in the next two to three years.
Piaggio had already record sale of 1,50,000 Vespa scooters in 2011 globally and plans to set up more plants in future with a capacity of 1,50,000 units in Baramati.
As per Ravi, Vespa will be sold across 50 dealerships across 35 cities that is just the beginning of selling market as it leads to the target of doubling the number of dealerships across 70 cities within the next one year.
This globally selling Vespa LX 125 will be available in the market showroom at price of Rs 66,661 (ex-showroom Maharashtra) positioned at a 15-25% price premium over scooters like Honda Activa, Suzuki Access and Mahindra Duro.
