Audi launches TT in India worth Rs 48 lakh

From its past portfolio, German Audi, the luxury car maker always build leadership position in sports car segment. Now introducing its mew sports car model TT, Audi will grab Indian Market Segment, expanding its product portfolio.

Come back with its previous announcement, Audi now will target sale of 8,000 units for India for 2012 with its new smother, but faster sports model TT Coupe.

The Premium sports segment player is confident with performance of new TT Coupe that powered by a 2.0 TFSI engine delivers 100 km per hour in just 5.6 seconds.

Declaring June month as a starting date to sale in showroom, Audi India Head Michael Perschke said, “As this segment is a very niche one, so we are not expecting a very large volume. The total size of this premium sports car market is 200-250 units per year. As we will start despatching the car in the middle of this year, we are hopeful of selling 25-35 units in 2012.”

A new but completely built unit TT model, priced at Rs 48.36 lakh has decided after inducting 15 per cent hike in excise and customs duties in the Budget for 2012-13.

Announcing high rate of duties for the reason of its hike price of entire range of models, Company said to sell its 50 units in the next year.

There are various sports cars model that Audi launched and considered as leader of the sport car segment with its fastest speed and high mileage capability. R8, R8 Spyder and RS5 Coupe are the major vehicles that sold in India and boost the market with their expanding demand.

Beside sports model, Audi India sells premium sedans A4, A6 and A8 and sports utility vehicles Q5 and Q7 that hiked its sale unit level upto 5,511 in 2011.

And as a Part of European auto major Volkswagen Group, Audi India has recorded high rate of sales units this year within 2 months by 33.33 per cent as compared to last year 2011.
