The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday vows that he will support the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government on all fronts.
The above statement was given to media by the state Congress chief Pradip Bhattacharya said Thursday.
Talking to media after meeting the prime minister, who was here to attend an Indian Science Congress meet, Pradip Bhattacharya said, “The prime minister assured us that the centre would fully support the state government on all fronts.”
Further, Pradip Bhattacharya quoted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as saying: “We cannot allow the state’s condition to become bad.”
He added he apprised PM Manmohan Singh about the state government’s inability to spend central funds for different developmental schemes.
