Today’s morning, India has successfully launched the version of its first ballistic nuclear-capable missile, ‘Prithvi-II’ which is developed under Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme.
In a user’s trial by the Strategic Force Command’s Army officers, Prithvi-II having 9 metres length completed its test trial effectively from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur off Odisha coast about 15 km.
The successful test fired missile organized course of action from a mobile launcher Launch Complex-3 in ITR.
The missile is supporting a well guidance system of the nuclear weapon’s delivery while an emergency occurred.
Reports said, major motive of this user trial was to study the whole systematic control and guidance of the missile as launched by Army as a user’s trial.
A two stage engine based Prithvi-II is capable of carrying 500 kg of nuclear warheads with a range of 350 km. The test firing of missile had an “excellent flight” and completed as its target, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) officials told reporters.
