Honour Killing is curse for us. In recent time, it is speeding so fast day by day in each state, mostly in Punjab.
By stopping such threat, Punjab government has issued some directions to Deputy Commissioners, Magistrates and Senior Superintendent of police for strict compliance in this regard, said by an official spokesman.
For taking strict actions to stop honour killing and to be safe the couples from their threatening parents, The High Court has issued directions to state authorized people to holding and try to snowing down increased number of honour killing cases in Punjab and Haryana.
While interacting with Media, he said, the threatening attitude of parents/relatives in the wake of inter-caste marriages by their children and subsequently disruption of law and order situation would be dealt with firmly.
He added, the security would be extended to such couples till they felt safe. The young married couples would facilitate with boarding and lodging for a period of six weeks after their marriage by protection centers which are set up by the state .
The protection would be given to such couples when they submitted an application in the court of District Registrar.
The SSP would ensure adequate security to the couples concerned. Besides, in the offices of commissioners/SSPs mediation/counseling cells would be set up as per the fresh guidelines of the court.
