To understand the major reason for moving up with a sudden speed of H1N1 cases in Mumbai, the state health officials was addressed a meeting on Saturday.
Due to H1N1, four people were died in Pune. Their death is made a big confusion for scientist and experts.
As per scientists, there is no report of H1N1 virus in the dead persons’ body; three had other co-morbid conditions like cancer, diabetes, hypertension and Down’s syndrome. While experts termed death toll as sporadic.
Informing the report of death due to H1N1, Dr Pradeep Awate, state surveillance officer said, two major reasons favorable to the spread of swine flu, one is of herd immunity people developed after that are on the decline due to pre-existing morbidities like diabetes, hypertension, cardiac illness, cancer etc are more susceptible.
And the second may be changing temperatures, he said, “The sudden cold wave in February following by the current transition period and difference in diurnal temperatures are favourable conditions for influenza infections like swine flu.”
However to find right solution for facing the problem seems to be a bigger threat in upcoming period, JK Banthia, additional chief secretary of Directorate of Health Services, Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Directorate of Pune’s National Institute of Virology and Mumbai’s Haffkine Institute were addressed a high level meeting at Mantralaya on Saturday.
