Sony launches Xperia Z in India

Sony Xperia Z is finally launched in India, taking a toughest competition against Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy range of products.

The water-resistant and dust-resistant Smartphone has priced at Rs 38,990, lower than Apple and the device is likely to ship in stores from March 12th.

Sony’s first launch after splitting with Ericsson, Xperia Z sports offer plans of free software applications and free music downloads from its Sony Music store, while free videos for a limited period from its Indian television unit Multi Screen Media Private Ltd, source said.

The five-inch Xperia Z has a 13-megapixel camera, 2.2 MP fully HD front camera, powered by Android ver.4.1 Jelly Bean and run on Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait processors with 2GB RAM.

The best qualitative screened TFT Reality display with Bravia Engine 2, Xperia Z is slightly thicker than the ultra-slim smartphones.

Promising protection from water, Sony claimed to get its 9% target of revenue setting the phone below 40k tag will surely be a win in the Indian market.
