Irrigation scam: Maharashtra CM orders probe against 45 officials
Finally two year pending multi-crore rupee irrigation scam probing request has approved by Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan yesterday, kick off a high level departmental probe against 45 alleged officials of the Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC).
Among 45 alleged officers, Devendra Shirke, the executive director of VIDC from 2008 to 2010 will also face probe which ordered in response of irregularities of cost escalations and official-contractor-politician nexus revealed in ND Vadnere committee report in 2010, reports said. Read more
