The convicted Berlusconi accused the government of fiscal extortion, saying that the cabinet is leading Italy into a “spiral of recession”. He further added that it is upto his centre-right PDL party decision whether to end its support or not.

Berlusconi is tailor of the largest Parliamentary party- center-right People of Freedom (PDL) and in upcoming polls in 2013 the decision will be in his party hands. Read more

On Tuesday, the Kerala High Court asked for an out of court settlement to the owner of Italian Merchant Vessel Enrica Lexie and the families of the two slain fishermen for determining the compensation.

The appeal for a compensation of Rs 1 crore, had sought by Doramma wife of Valentine Jalastine, while the sisters of another fishermen had demanded for Rs 2 crore reliefs. Read more

Now they have been arrested by Italian Police force yesterday under the allegations of killing two Indian fishermen. As per report, the Marines have remanded in Kochi police custody for three days.

But Indian police has criticized Italian authority’s action to arrest the soldiers as against Indian Penal Law because as per them the firing happened in Indian territorial waters. Read more

Under Indian laws, these six Italian naval personnel must have charged with a probe in the fishermen killing incident. And while External Affairs Minister SM Krishna has said same to Italy, it has refused to cooperate.

They reportedly said that further course of action would be decided after arrival of Rome officials.
