Pakistan blocks cellphone services
On the special and important 9th and 10th days of Muharram, the first month of Islamic calendar, Pakistan govt has blocked all mobile services across the cities for more than two days, seeking to prevent Sunni extremist groups from detonating bombs using mobiles.
Threatening from Wednesday’s suicide attacks in Rawalpindi and Karachi, the mobile services are being blocked in Karachi, Quetta and a sector of Islamabad which would be followed to more than 50 cities on two days. Read more
