In historical vote, Palestine win upgraded UN status
The UN General Assembly of the 193-member world body on Thursday voted for recognition of a Palestinian state with status of “non-member observer state”, a historical victory for Palestinians who won 138-9 vote with 41 abstentions.
Palestinians non-member observer state status is the defeat of Israel and US, two countries immediately criticized the move. However Canada, the Czech Republic, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau and Panama were also in their support.
