TDP leader Yerram Naidu dies in road accident

According to latest news, the Telugu Desam Party’s senior leader and former Union minister K. Yerram Naidu died in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district early Friday.

It is said in reports that the road accident happened when a car, in which the TDP leader was travelling, hit an oil tanker from behind near Ranasthalam in Srikakulam district in north coastal Andhra, about 700 km from Hyderabad, around 2 a.m.

Further, it is said to media that Yerram Naidu, a politburo member of TDP, was on his way back to Srikakulam from Visakhapatnam, after attending a marriage when the accident took place.

Excessive bleeding Yerram Naidu was soon shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) but the doctors failed to save his life.

The TDP leader was declared dead around 3:30 am.

Reports have said the four more people traveling with Yerram Naidu were injured and 2 of them were admitted to RIMS.

Yerram Naidu was elected as MP four times and served as union minister for rural development from 1996 to 1998. he was survived by wife, a son and a daughter.

The last rites will be performed at his native village Nimmada in Srikakulam district Friday.
