UP Assembly Elections 2012: Poll officer stops Robert Vadra’s bike rally, transferred
The first phase of assembly election polls will be held on Wednesday, and for getting voters’ support all the top leaders are in the race of campaigning.
On Monday while Congress Representative Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra addressing the bike rallies in Amethi, a controversy had broken out over the transfer of a poll official, an IAS officer.
As per report, the poll official, Pawan Sen allegedly stopped a motorcycle rally of Congress on the charge of violating the model code of conduct for using more vehicles against the permitted number of ten bikes.
And as per reaction by Congress, he has been transferred to Goa till February 19, when voting is over in Amethi.
Calling the incident “a funny coincidence”, the Election Commission said, “This is a funny coincidence. He is getting promotion but till the polling in Amethi is over, the order is on hold.”
However Robert Vadra who is the husband of Priyanka Gandhi and Congress campaigner is also planning to enter politics.
During campaigning in Amethi, he also degraded the Rahul’s obsession to become Prime Minister as in support of him. He said that Rahul Gandhi was not gunning for the Prime Minister’s post.
Moreover, the Poll Panel claimed that the issue of IAS official’s the transfer is not related with Mr Vadra’s incident to convoy being stopped.
The transfer of IAS officer Pawan Sen is routine and its order had been prepared in the morning itself and had little to do with the IAS officer’s actions.
