 US School Firing: 20 children among 26 people killed in shooting at Connecticut school

As per the latest news released by the US media, a heavily armed gunman started firing at a Connecticut elementary school on Friday, which killed 26 people including 20 school children.

However, news said that the gunman was shot dead by the police inside Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, state police Lieutenant Paul Vance.

Further, US police official Vance told media that said there were 28 deaths in Connecticut – 20 children which also include 7 adults from the school and another person connected to the suspect at a house in Newtown.

It is said in media, that the shooter was a 24-years –old man, James Holmes. US police has released the facebook photo of the shooter, James Holmes. Media said that he killed himself at the scene.

Meanwhile, on of the dead was shooter’s mother, a school teacher at the same school.

The suspected shooter entered into the school at the time when children were gathered in the ground for morning meeting. He was loaded with four weapons and wearing a bullet-proof jacket.

Might be it would be the worst mass shooting in US history. Though, President Barack Obama wiping away tears and pausing to collect his emotions, mourned the “beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old” who were killed.

The US President said, “As a country we have been through this too many times.”

He added, “We’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.”

White House spokesman Jay Carney said, “Obama remains committed to trying to renew a ban on assault weapons.”
