According to latest news, pitch-hitter Virender Sehwag is all set to play the opening match of Champions League Twenty20 from his team Delhi Daredevils against 2012 IPL winners Kolkata Knight Riders at Centurion on Saturday.
Reports have said that Virender Sehwag has cleared the fitness test.
The cricketer had suffered a ligament strain on his left ankle while playing Super Eights match against South Africa in the ICC World Twenty20 in Colombo.
Talking to media, an official from Delhi Daredevils said, “Virender Sehwag cleared the test and was declared fit to play in the tournament from the start.”
Earlier, Sehwag also played the warm-up match against Sydney Sixers, but he failed to open his account in that match and was out for a duck.
In the qualifying round, the match between Uva Next and Trinidad & Tobago was washed out due to rain. In another match, Sialkot Stallions beat Hampshire by six wickets.
