Continuing raids in nine states including Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Ambala over the telecom scandal, the Central Bureau Intelligence has charged a fresh case BSNL and Starnet Communications, allegedly beneficiary which got franchise, on allegations of making discrepancies in a Wimax deal.

As per CBI report, teams of CBI officials allowed to go for search the residences of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) officials and the officials of Starnet in different nine locations across Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Gurgaon.

The senior executives of BSNL were signed agreement over the Wimax deal with Starnet Communications although they did not fulfill eligibility criteria. Despite it, a letter of intent for BSNL’s Wimax franchise for its six circles had given to it and fudged its balance sheet to grab the deal.
